Grief Circles / Bereavement Groups

Hello fellow doulas.

I'm interested in starting a local grief circle and would like to chat to anyone who has experience of starting one of these groups in their community. I feel on more shaky ground with this topic than, for example, advance planning. I'd love to speak to someone to hear about their experiences, how they got something going and what form it takes.

Thanks! Clare

Hi Clare - I'm about to start running Compassionate Cafes for our local hospice - see: https://renniegrovepeace.org/our-care-and-support/information-about-our-services/compassionate-cafes-bereavement-support/. Happy to share about that.

I've been holding grief workshops and rituals for a while - see: http://www.bigseeds.co.uk/grief-tending. So would be happy to share some practices that could work in a cafe format.

Hi Clare. I volunteer at a Grief Kind Space, for Sue Ryder hospices. These are drop-in spaces designed to encourage peer-to-peer bereavement support for people within their communities. So, I don't run it but am happy to talk around any experiences of delivering it, if that would be helpful.
