For Doulas and Doulas in training who have undertaken their learning with Living Well Dying Well
Takes place online over 3 sessions by Zoom on 25, 26 and 27th May 2020.
Sessions run 2pm – 4pm Book Here
The workshop is at an advanced level and builds on the introductory session on the Foundation course of the Doula Training. It now includes information on planning during the Pandemic too. It will equip the Doula with the knowledge and skills to work confidently and competently with individuals, at any stage, to plan for their end of life. Additionally, it prepares the Doula to run community events and raise public awareness on this very important issue, which is fundamental to our role.
The workshop provides Doulas with the knowledge and skills to undertake Advance Planning (Advance Decisions/Care Plans/Statement of Wishes and Choices/Refusals). As well as covering the legal aspects, such as Lasting Power of Attorney and the Mental Capacity Act. It embraces the ‘how to’ conduct the conversation with a person to enable the formulation of written Advance Plan for End of Life. The LWDW Advance Planning Tool Kit will be provided to all those who successfully complete the learning and development so they can work with and support clients together with suggestions on how to run Community Events to raise public awareness.
