I am a trained End of Life Doula based in Bristol and neighbouring areas.
Experience in the health and social care fields in Australia and the UK has given me a good understanding of the kinds of issues, individuals and families face when events may make them feel vulnerable. Working in a hospice as a complementary therapist and more recently in a hospital spiritual and pastoral care team, has also helped shape my understanding.
A large part of my work involves transitions and loss. Working as a funeral celebrant has shown that families are often overwhelmed and taken by surprise with the amount of decisions that need to be made in the dying experience. Building relationships and having conversations early can help with living life. As a Doula it is hoped that a skilful, calm presence is offered with a measure of lightness to meet an individual’s wishes. Happy to chat. Thank you.
