Jayne Nicholas

Hello. I’m Jayne and I am very lucky to live in beautiful East Devon with my partner. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren and enjoy being a part of their lives, as well as volunteering and gardening. I am a retired Occupational Therapist (OT) and NHS Manager, with a focus on improving community services. I have supported care homes to deliver the Gold Standard Framework in Palliative Care, where my interest in delivering the best care to people at the end of their lives was awakened. I have also worked on a Carers Champion Project to help GP staff identify and support families looking after their loved ones at home. I am passionate about helping people to explore the choices available when considering how they might like to end this fascinating journey, we so aptly call ‘life’. As an OT, I am trained to find practical solutions to everyday problems, so enabling people to live their best life. Having completed my Doula Foundation course, these skills will be adapted to support people to identify their wishes and aims, as they consider what constitutes a good death.
