I have been a nurse since the age of sixteen, when I began as a Nursing Cadet. I qualified as a SRN, became a Night Sister, and after a variety of experience I spent 34 years as the Night Services Matron at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust.
I trained as a Civil Funeral Celebrant, which is my work now.
I also worked as a Marie Curie Nurse sitting with people in their own homes, and continue to do Marie Curie Volunteering. Because I have sat with many people at the end of life, I felt drawn to the End of Life Doula role.
